As you enter the profession, your standard DBS check will be used to asses your suitability for work as an actuary.<\/p>\n<p>Under the 1974 Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, there are many other positions across the financial and legal sectors that also require a <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/history-and-process-of-crb-checks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CRB check<\/a>, such as accountants and solicitors.<\/p>\n<p>To become an actuary you will need to join the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries as a student member. Members of the IFOA are closely regulated so you will need to complete a standard DBS for an actuary as part of the vetting process.
