The 1974 Rehabilitation of Offenders Act stipulates all the roles that must undertake a CRB check and the type of DBS check necessary for each job.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which type of DBS check will I need?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are four <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/levels-of-dbs-check\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">types of DBS checks<\/a>, which each involve a different level of background check. A DBS check for a call centre worker falls into the first level of DBS checks.<\/p>\n<p>You will only need a <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/faqs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">basic DBS check<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A basic DBS check for a call centre worker will require a search for any <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/dbs-check-faq-videos\/what-does-unspent-mean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unspent<\/a> criminal convictions or conditional cautions. Spent convictions will not be included.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the wide range of contexts in which a call centre worker could be employed, DBS checks are not necessary for every call worker. If your work involves interactions with children and\/ or vulnerable adults, or your role involves giving advice to the public, you can expect to undergo a basic DBS check.<\/p>\n<p>DBS checks may be requested by employers and individuals.
