They are necessary for a wide range of roles and involve a search for criminal records.<\/p>\n<p>A DBS check for a carer will be an <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/enhanced-dbs-checks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">enhanced DBS check<\/a> with barred lists. This type of CRB check is a comprehensive search for all types of criminal records due to the level of unsupervised contact you will have with the public, particularly vulnerable adults, in role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is an enhanced DBS check with barred lists?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An enhanced DBS check with barred lists will search for any <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/dbs-check-faq-videos\/what-does-unspent-mean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unspent<\/a> or spent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings.
