Enhanced DBS checks are reserved for those working in the closest contact with the public, particularly children and vulnerable adults.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, those who engage in unsupervised contact with children and vulnerable adults, must undertake an enhanced DBS with barring lists which is a search of the children\u2019s and vulnerable adults\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/dbs-check-faq-videos\/what-is-a-barred-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">barred lists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DBS checks for the RAF<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For those who wish to work for the RAF, a DBS check for the Royal Air Force could be a basic, standard or enhanced DBS. The type of DBS you are asked to complete will depend on the level of interaction you will have with the public in role.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/faqs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">basic DBS check<\/a> for the Royal Air Force will require a search for any unspent criminal convictions or conditional cautions.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, a standard DBS check for the RAF will involve a check for any <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/dbs-check-faq-videos\/what-does-unspent-mean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unspent<\/a> or spent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings in existence on the <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/dbs-check-faq-videos\/what-is-the-pnc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Police National Computer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are likely to have close contact with children and\/ or vulnerable adults when working for the RAF, you may be asked to take an enhanced DBS which will require a check for any spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, cautions, warnings and non-conviction information held by relevant police forces.<\/p>\n<p>Only basic DBS checks can be requested by either you or the RAF, all other types of DBS checks can only be applied for by the Royal Air Force.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like support with a basic DBS application or would like to complete a basic DBS check online, <a href=\"https:\/\/crbdirect.org.uk\/\">visit our home page now<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When joining the Royal Air Force you could be asked to take a DBS check.
